The fields are swelling with each rendition of the Short Track series by Boulder Racing. Chipotle-Titus had 7 riders this Wednesday evening. Conditions were perfect - cool & no rain this time. The track was fast, twisty & dusty.
The "B" women & Juniors were off first. Toni Geer rode to a fantastic 2nd place chewing up those 19 year old college girls. 14 year old Wesley Geer stormed to a first place in the Junior Women, hanging in with the junior men as well.
The Mens "B" field was huge & the start rabid. The "G's" - Green, Gouge & Geer, didn't get the best starts but moved well up through the field. Mark had the secret shortcut wired - a tough steep climb that gained him 2 spots a lap.
Karen Hogan lined up with the best women't pro field we have seen here yet. With 1 lap to go she made a fantastic move into 5th place (see photo). Less than a minute later she went down, but was able to roll in - no serious damage except the usual dirt rash & some dusty shorts.
Mike Hogan worked the stellar "A" field against some of our best US Pros - finishing somewhere around 10th.
Eldora Short Track Saturday, XC Sunday - this is a national qualifier if you still need too qualify. Firecracker 50 is on Tuesday.
Ciao, a presto.
