Short Track Finals - Boulder

Chipotle-Titus had 10 riders out for the Boulder Racing Short Track Finals Wednesday night. It was a big night with some top US pros coming out for one last race. Dave Towle, the top race announcer in North America - & soon to challenge Phil & Paul, was on hand for the call. Wesley Geer plied him with Chipotle burritos to get some extra commentary. (Dave - you made our blog)

The "B" women & juniors were the real heros tonight. The race started in a rainstorm & the infamous Boulder mud tried to eat them up. Wesley started on the heals of the junior men, but soon tired of that game & proceeded to drop all but one boy, riding to yet another victory. Toni Geer started in the reverse hole shot (i.e. last) but immediately rocketed into first & rode uncontested to her 2nd victory. Ben Hogan had a short delay to clear the mud from his drive train, & then put on a killer effort to beat the mud & most of the field. This race was hard! The mud was a big factor & real skill was required to keep it upright.

Next up was the men's "B" with Drew Geer, Justin Green & Dan Weiler starting. The course had dried up & was fast & sticky. The course was great fun - extreme turns & quick climbs - the best of the year. The field was huge & we held in for top 1/3 finishes.

The Women's "A" got their own start for the finals & this was the fastest race of the season. Karen dug deep into her suitcase of pain for 6th. These are some of the best pros in the US - road & mountain.

Mike Hogan rounded out our team effort in the men's "A" field - again, the fastest & largest field of the year.

Team dinner at Chipotle afterwards for burritos, beers (root beers) & stories of mud.

Next up: Winter Park this weekend - looks like a tough course.
