Karen Hogan, wearing the stars & stripes sleeves from her 2006 national title, blazed through the Firecracker 50 course for her 2nd consecutive championship title. She won the open women 40+ marathon race over fellow Chipotle-Titus riders Jane Finsterwald in 2nd & Kay Levesque in 6th. Hogan's time for the epic adventure was 5:09. This was a huge departure from the largely road course in Sonoma last year. The Firecracker was a true old time epic mountain course, well suited for a championship. Congratulations Karen!
