Chipotle Titus at Leadville

"The Race Across the Sky" or "The hardest mountain bike race in the world" are used aptly used to describe the Leadville 100. Though not overly technical, the entire race is held about 9000 feet & there is over 11,000 feet of climbing in the 102 mile course. The highest point, Columbine Mine, is almost 12,600 feet in elevation.

Chipotle Titus fielded a strong team for this year's edition. Race reports are not out yet but it was a perfect year for a PR; cloudy skies, cool & very little wind (which is much un-Leadvillelike). Dave Weins won again followed closely by Lance Armstrong. Dave has now dispatched two tour winners in two years on this course - Floyd Landis in 2006 & Lance this year.

Mark Gouge put in his best time ever at 8:02, 28th overall & 8th in his class
Lance Loehding 8:15
Jason Poole 8:38 (following a crash & a broken chain)
Kelly McGrew 9:01 in his 10th Leadville 100 & 7th place in the 50+ class
Lester Pardoe 10:34
Lilliana Perez 10:54 for her 1st Leadville
Kim Pardoe 11:03
Beth Gouge 11:07
