Mike Hogan and Thomas Dooley traveled to Titus country to race in the Whiskey Off Road. First, if you have never been to Prescott, AZ, you must. It is a great town with lots of character, saloons and bars. It is no wonder we had fun. The Whiskey Off-Road flows smooth starting on the Historic Whiskey Row in downtown Prescott. It is a super challenging ride with great single track and a death march down to the far point of Skull Valley. The single track is very challenging and you need to be on your game. It was also nice to have a super light bike for the death march climb out of Skull Valley. It is aptly named.
The day started great for both riders as the Titus boys set us up with new rides. Thomas was on his totally geeked out White Sex X Carbon and Mike settled for a more subdued ride with the Black X Carbon. Both were Cranked Up with Crank Bros. wheels. If you left these bikes alone at the expo in the Titus tent, people would come for blocks just to run their hands over the smooth lines and gawk at the amazing ride.
Thomas and Mike both had stellar races with Thomas winning the Masters race and Hogan finishing second. Mike had a some bad luck with a rock snapping off his valve stem for a good flat and a short fix. He was back chasing Thomas in no time. The bikes were flawless. As a matter of fact, I have never seen so many Titus bikes on one race. Titus certainly owns its home turf.
