12 Hours of Mesa Verde

Kelly Mcgrew and Mark Gouge traveled to Mesa Verde for the 12hrs of Mesa
Verde.  Long drive but riding Phil's World trail was worth it.  A great
event for your 2011.  Phil's World trail outside of Cortez was hyped in
the Mountain Flyer last fall.  It's a combination of winding singletrack
like Pueblo and some technical rock drops like Fruita.  Mark raced as
Duo open with Kervin from Rotor.  Finished in 6th (14th overall) only 2
min out of the podium position.  Kelly has been nursing a broken thumb
and gutted out 3 laps with CTS coach Mike Durner.  They finished 16th
and 43rd overall.  Beth Gouge raced solo and finished 6th with 5 laps.
With a little tough love from the crew, she really showed her toughness
to gut out her last lap to make that happen.

12hr races are the new 100 milers.  Snowmass anyone?
