"The temps dropped to 15 degrees on Thursday night and all the power washers were frozen on Friday morning. A muddy course was now frozen and rutted, making for a really challenging World Championship that just got muddier as the day went on and temps started to warm the frozen course. All the racers on Friday had to rely on pit crews to do their best to clean bikes, despite not having any power washers or water. Bikes that normally weigh 17lbs were so covered in frozen mud that they weighed 35lbs after just 1 lap of racing. Pit crews could not keep up with cleaning and many racers had to leave the pits on bikes they rode in with.
Bikes were completely destroyed and after sitting for 15mins the wheels and drive train were frozen solid. The conditions were epic and it made for one of the most difficult masters world championship races."

John Bliss raced the 55-59 category and placed 15th in his qualifying race, that earned him a 30th place call up for the final race. John placed 24th in the world championship race for 55-59.
