Karen Hogan joined the team today in Vail & promptly chalked up a win in the Vail Pass Time Trial. Her time was faster that all the pro women & she picked up a paycheck to match Mike's from yesterday. The course was not particularly fast with a stiff headwind brewing on the last 10k. The first 5k of this great course are flat followed by 10k of 6% to 10% grade.
Mike Hogan, nursing some tired legs from yesterday came in 3rd in the 35+ men, somehow letting Floyd Landis beat him by 3 minutes. Thomas Dooley came in 9th. Drew Geer was 4th in the 45+ men. The weather was coming in & a downpour hit the boys halfway up the climb. We can't' use age an excuse as the 51 year old legend Ned Overend won this one again in 27:29. This is just about a minute off the record set by Andy Hampsten years ago.
4 starts, 1 win, 2 podiums
Next up: The Winter Park Hill Climb & The 24 Hours of Steamboat
