On Sunday, the Colorado State Cyclocross Championships were run in unbelievable temperatures. After riding in short sleeves most of the CX season, riders were presented with 5 inches of fresh snow and temperatures in the teens. It was a new venue in Lyons that was very flat with two barrier sections and very little room to pass. The races seemed to be decided by people with good technical skills and the ability to go full gas on the flat and straight pedal sections or through the barriers. The Chipotle Titus team did extremely well.

Ben Hogan rode in single digit temperatures and finished in the top 20 of a huge junior field. The juniors had the toughest conditions of the day having to pack down a good line for the old folks. Ben said that the highlight of the day was riding in the snow and finding a set of keys in the middle of his race. Some 45+ racer was very thankful for Ben.

Bob Bieterman finished 2nd in the 45+ category. Bob is on form for KC and will definitely be in the hunt for a top 10 finish. Congratulations Bob.

Jamie Kilcoyne finished 11th in the 35+ category. This field was extremely stacked and Jamie was like butter in the barriers and technical turns.

Way to go Burritos! Next stop, Kansas City for the National Championships. The will be the largest on record with over 2,300 competitors signed up. Forecast is for Ice.
