KC CX Nationals-Hogan finishes 3rd

Friday update. Jamie Kilcoyne raced on Thursday morning in the ice and mud in the Men's B race. Jamie had a great race finishing 7th. Today, Ben Hogan rode a fantastic race finishing 12th in cold, rutted, downright dangerous conditions. I am not sure what kind of parent would allow their kid to do this? He says it was fun and he wants to bring his friends back next year. I also think he likes the accommodations at the Great Wolf Lodge and Water Park.

Karen Hogan powered back from 20th position to finish 3rd in her race. Karen started her day in the front row and had a fantastic start. She took a wide berth around the first turn to avoid traffic and got T Boned by a gal that just could not handle the speed coupled with the mud and off camber turn. So Karen reloaded, and calmly rode her way back into the race. She had a great day and rode a fantastic race in perhaps the muddiest conditions I have ever seen. It was great to see her on the podium. She smiled a lot. I am still scratching my head wondering why?

3-5 inches of snow expected tonight. No Zamboni or grooming machine to smooth out the course for the races tomorrow....
