Winter Park Hill Climb

Sherri Boltz on the top step of the women's 40+ podium

The 16th season of the Winter Park series kicked off this weekend with the Winter Park Hill Climb. The 5.3 mile road, climbing 2060 feet, was very fast this year - dry & well packed. There was a bit of a tail wind producing screaming times.

Chipotle-Titus raced 14 riders & came home with 3 wins & 4 podium places. Sheri Boltz won the 40+ expert women's field, Mark Gouge won the 45+ mens,  Gary Thacker won the 50+ men & Jamie Kilkoyn powered his way to 3rd in the 35+.

Mike Hogan jumped in with the big boys & was 6th in the largest field of the day, just 1:42 off the overall winner. His 44 year old age stands out among those youngsters.

Toni Geer & Maria Perez came in 6th & 10th in the fast 40+ women's field. Lance Loehding was 12th (35+), Keith Sanders 6th (45+), Justin Green 11th (45+), Kelly McGrew 6th (50+), Jack Boltz 7th (50+), Davis Haberkorn 4th (sp junior) & Dennis Haberkorn 4th (sp 50+)

Nice team effort! Next up: Mountain States Cup in Crested Butte, Rist Canyon road race for the roadies & of course short track on wednesday.
