The Cross Season Begins
The Cross Season is finally here. On Sunday, riders were treated with a Belgian-like forested cyclo cross race at the Breckenridge Nordic Center. It twisted and turned challenging bike handling skills while a couple of road climbs tested the legs. The highlight of the day was Gary Thacker's win in the Men's 45+. Gary rode away from the field and stayed away to take the solo victory. He mentioned that his inspiration came from Ben Hogan's earlier ride in the Junior category. Ben finished second while riding with a smile on his face the whole time. Bob Bieterman ended up 7th in the 45+ as well. Rounding it out was Mike Hogan finishing 4th in the 35+ group and Jamie Kilcoyne was 12th. It was a great start, more cross to come.
