More Cyclocross

Grab your cowbell, sausage, cigarettes and beer. Cylcocross season is here!

Justin Green finally makes an appearance at the Xilinx course in Longmont. Rumor has it that it was a complete mudfest. For those who dont know, Justin is a mudder. The guy rips through mud with the greatest of ease. This was apparent on Saturday when Justin graced the 45+ start line and finished a strong 10th in a difficult field.
Sunday was a new day, new course and a new race. The Red Rocks series kicked off down at Bear Creek Lake Park. The course utilizes some great MTB terrain used by the Front Range 50. In addition, they through in 2 sand running sections and a monster run up climb that had people crawling. There were several Chipotle Titus racers in the Men 35+. Mike Hogan finished 2nd aboard his Titus Exogrid CX Bike. He was inspired by the previous evenings viewing of the blockbuster smash hit "Speed Racer". Now we know where Titus gets their inspiration. If you have not seen the movie, pick it up. Speaking of Speed Racer, Jamie Kilcoyne was 11th with another strong finish in a big points race. Finally, Jason Poole was 16th in a very strong field.
In the Women's Open race Karen Hogan unleashed a monster attack on the last run up. She ran like Usain Bolt with her bike on her shoulder to move into 2nd place. It was a spectacular effort.
Mark Gouge (powered by Gelato) rode in the Men Cat 3 race. He was at or near the front for most of the race until a mechanical set in. He was riding those tubeless Hutchison tires....more news on that later.
