Just under 5 hours in the hot sun brought the Singletrack.com/Justin's duo of Dooley & Hogan across the line in 6th place masters. They started the stage from the elite starting block which provides a significant advantage - only the top 10 teams get to start here. "Sipping cappuccino in starting block A" has been Thomas' life goal & that is now complete. They are 49th overall in the general classification of 600 teams. A good ride tomorrow will get them back on the podium & there is a lot of racing to come. In epic adventures like this the time gained or lost in a stage can be hours, not minutes. A simple mechanical can cost you the entire stage.
Tomorrow is a 100km stage that starts off with a 2000 meter monster climb! Forecast is for 97degrees F.
