Thomas had to carry on alone today on stage 6 of the Cape Epic after Mikes stage 5 crash. Mike was still trying to get ready for the start but at 6am it became apparent that he was too injured to continue. Thomas unofficially 'teamed up' with marathonmtb.com's Mike Blewitt whose teammate was also taken out by the crash.
Thomas rolled another great ride at around 6:15 which would put him in the top 10 again. The race structure does not list your placing any longer if your teammate is out. Look at the end of the results under "individual finishers" for stage times.
Injury report: Mike has no broken bones & is up & cheering Thomas along.
